Congregational Health Ministry Survey Report
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and National Council of Churches (NCC) implemented and published these results of a national survey of NCC member churches in an effort to inform the national dialogue, in which various observers have suggested an expanded role for the “faith-based†sector in meeting the health care needs of our society. While much discussion takes place concerning the provision of “faith-based†services, little is actually known about the extent and nature of such health ministries, as they are typically called, on a national scale. This 12 page summary of findings includes information on the type of services provided, focus areas, and why congregations decide to pursue these activities and may help to inform the work your organization or partnership does with faith-based organizations in your local community.
