Fundamentals of Evaluation

The Fundamentals of Evaluation workshop is an interactive workshop in which participants learn the core concepts of evaluation. The information provided will help participants understand the importance of evaluating a program, what to expect from their evaluation efforts and what is involved in program evaluation from planning to reporting results. Through the use of visual aids, group discussion, case studies and practical activities the workshop prepares participants to develop their own evaluation plans. Participants in the Fundamentals of Evaluations workshop will have the opportunity to learn about:

• Evaluation: process vs. outcome
• Logic model development
• Use of evaluation in programs
• Development of an evaluation plan
• Organizational Evaluations: externally and internally (measuring program successes vs. role of evaluation in attracting funders and selecting partners)
